NYT Connections Today (Game #466) – The Answers
Here are the answers for today’s Connections (Game #466):
- Yellow (Prefix meaning “very”): EXTRA, HYPER, OVER, SUPER
- Green (Types of parties): BIRTHDAY, COCKTAIL, DINNER, SURPRISE
- Blue (PBS shows): FRONTLINE, MASTERPIECE, NATURE, NOVA
- Purple (Places in France): ANGERS, CHAMPAGNE, NICE, REUNION
This Connections puzzle really made me think – which is the point! The Green group (Types of parties) was pretty easy, with words like BIRTHDAY, COCKTAIL, DINNER, and SURPRISE standing out. But I found the Yellow and Blue groups tougher. The confusion came from words like NOVA, SUPER, and HYPER, which seemed like they could fit together. Eventually, I figured out that it was about a Prefix meaning “very”, and solved Yellow.
That left me with the Blue and Purple groups, and I was stuck. Maybe if I watched more American TV, I’d have recognized the PBS shows like FRONTLINE and MASTERPIECE. Instead, I focused on ANGERS, which seemed unusual for Connections. I also noticed NICE, CHAMPAGNE, and REUNION were all French places, so I matched them with ANGERS and solved Purple.
