Movie Review "Big Show";

Sergey Loban was pleasantly surprised by the film "The Shapito Show". I thought: Here it is, the Russian Oscar! It's a very interesting directorial decision. Four relationship stories are intricately intertwined in time. A puzzle that fits into a single picture only in the last frames of the film. Even if the characters' stories were boring and banal, it would be fascinating. But the stories are revealing and vital. The characters could very well be our neighbors or classmates. A lot of water has flowed since the investigator's speech in the film "Portraying the Victim," and here's another look at the "Next" generation... If you describe the "Big Show" in two words, then Infantilism and Illusion immediately come to mind. All the characters are torn out of their usual world. It's more like a world, because ordinary Crimea becomes unfriendly and dangerous for them at the height of the season. The characters go beyond their comfort zone in search of things that turn out to be just an illusion, which the characters are simply not ready to possess. They left their shells, becoming helpless and vulnerable.…

The story begins intriguingly. A mysterious Cyberstalker and a girl who looks like a teenager. They only know each other through communication on LiveJournal. The girl is looking for a meeting, but the Cyber Stranger tries to avoid it. When the meeting does happen, it turns out that the Cyberstalker had something to fear. Behind the eloquent nickname is a plump, indeterminate-aged theatrical scenery fitter. Within a day, the charm of online communication disappears. The characters are too different and there is nothing in common between them, except for lines of comments in LiveJournal. In record time, the Cybernetic alien drives his companion whining and the illusion of love disappears like a morning mist. They break up and, having lost something he never had, the Cybernetic suddenly realizes how important this relationship is to him. He becomes even more unbearable and intrusive.

Friendship. The story of the relationship between a Deaf Singer and his deaf-mute companions. They are friends only because they are afraid of ridicule from ordinary people and communicate in their own small circle. Having learned to sing, a Deaf Singer goes to the Crimea with a dubious company led by a Pioneer. His deaf-mute "friends" perceive this as betrayal and break off relations with him. What made them follow the Singer to Crimea? Maybe it's just envy. But having met his comrades in the Crimea, the Singer tries to meet with them, but is refused. Having lost his temper, the Singer throws accusations at the Pioneer and breaks up with his company. As a result, the Pioneer bills the Singer and refuses to give back his belongings. Humiliated and broken, the Singer turns to his deaf-mute "tribe" for help. They are happy to help: their expectations have been fulfilled — ordinary people despise and dislike them for being deaf, the Singer's story has confirmed this.…

I must say that Sergey Logan used another unusual technique. At the same time, in all four stories, in four nearby places in Crimea, the characters deliver an angry speech. The same words. They blame those who until recently were a friend, a loved one, a beloved father, a valuable "employee." Moreover, it is perfectly clear from the outside that the characters accuse others of what they themselves are guilty of. They endowed others with illusory qualities, and the disappointment was caused only by the fact that the illusions turned out to be far from reality.…
The third story is about a famous father's worthless son. Peter Mamonov's father is convincing. After eight years of separation, he finds his son and takes him to the Crimea. On a difficult journey through the Crimean mountains for a pampered Muscovite, his father tries in every possible way to awaken his son's independence and self-confidence. However, his attempts lead to a complete breakup, the son throws accusations in his father's face and leaves him.

The fourth story of the "ersatz star", the doppelganger of Viktor Tsoi, the Roma legend and his dreamy Producer. An enthusiastic producer comes up with a ridiculous concept of an ersatz star. They say copying Viktor Tsoi, you can repeat his success. Having pawned a rare painting of his father, he sets off with Roma, Tsoi's doppelganger, and an old cameraman to conquer the Crimea. The producer's head is full of illusory ideas, he sees near fame and concert halls full of spectators. Roma-Tsoi goes with only one goal — to make money. As a result, the money is drunk, the halls are empty. Roma goes to work part-time in a big-time Show, and the Producer is left penniless at a broken trough. He makes a familiar ridiculous speech-an accusation. Although I just didn't consider the usual desire to make money from popularity in Roma, and the ideas of the ersatz stars are their absurdities.

The paths of all the characters eventually intersect in the Big Show, the show of doppelgangers and copiers. It's probably a symbol of their world, the world of the heroes of all these stories. This fake world has no future, the tent is burning down, set on fire by the Producer. Only one story gets a sequel — the story of a Father and Son. They reconcile and return to Moscow. What happens to the rest of the characters is anyone's guess. Perhaps this is a hint that they will always remain Father and Son. The rest of the relationships are not a given, they need to be built. And you need to be able to do that. Fake love can only turn into jealousy, fake friendship into forced communication in a narrow circle, and you can only cooperate with ideologically close people.
